It starts with Aoba on the phone with someone where he explains that he works selling spare parts at a shop called hum drum junk and that customers are always infatuated with his voice over the phone so he starts using that to sell parts by pretending to flirt with customers and then just getting them to buy expensive parts. His allmate Ren is introduced, he’s an older model shaped like a small blue dog with blue fur. He also introduces his coil which is basically like a phone it’s just a wrist watch. Aoba lives with his grandmother, Tae (important fact). He lives on an island called Midorimjima which was overrun by a man named Toue and his resort that he runs called platinum jail. Aoba and his grandmother were given a chance to leave but they didn’t because it’s where they always lived and also because Tae wanted to keep an eye on Toue. So now they live in the old residential district which is kind of run down and he explains that the police and yakuza are all sleeping together and pretty much the same thing witch then he introduces his friend kind of Akushima who is a paranoid like conspiracy theorist of a cop but he’s nice to Aoba so that’s cool. He introduces his old friends Virus and Trip who are yakuza. He also introduces Rhyme which is an online video game existing only in Midorijima and it’s a fighting game that incorporates allmate kind of like pokemon and it’s run by Toue’s allmate Usui who makes sure everything is fair and also that no one gets hurt but you can play games without the Usui where people can die. Aoba doesn’t play Rhyme. He also explains Rib which is a group of gangs in the Midorima area and they have fights as far as I can tell (tbh i dont understand Rib very well) and people who in Rib are called Ribstees some of them are nice some of them mug children (like bug bomb(they make fun of young Aoba for looking like a girl)) Then there is Morphine which is a gang who is working for the government. Rhyme also has gangs like Noiz’s team Ruff rabbits. Aoba’s childhood friend Koujaku is in the Rib team Ben Shigure and his friend Mizuki formed the biggest Rib team called Dry juice. Aoba goes to see Mizuki and he talks about getting a tattoo from an artist he really admires and also how people from Dry Juice have been going missing. He also is bad at locking the door.
Then he’s talking to Koujaku on his balcony and Koujaku is smoking and he’s like you know I don’t really like smoking but it’s all chill guys, also he tells Aoba to keep an eye on Mizuki
He goes to work and has to deliver a part to someone because they live in Midorijima also. Aoba ends up getting sucked into a Rhyme battle which is called getting ganked and I don’t know why. Either way the person is wearing a rabbit head and starts attacking him and he starts losing because he doesn’t know how to fight back and keeps defending but then he blacks out and is not dead. He locks in and gets home and Virus and Trip find him also. On the way back Aoba starts getting messages asking for help and he refuses to click on them because he thinks they are spam. Then Ren is like ok man, maybe this guy needs help and so he opens one and it’s a gameplay footage that is like a rpg style and it shows him a path into Platinum Jail. He also gets another one that is an old woman getting kidnapped so he starts being afraid of his grandmother getting kidnapped. So then when he’s at work one time he gets a call from Yoshida and she is like oh god Aoba something happened to your grandmother and then he goes there all panicked and then she’s fine and she just threw out her back and so Aoba carries her home and is like pretty please go to the hospital and is also like she’s so thin oh no my grandmother is gonna die but then she kicks him so like it’s chill he knows she’s good.
Aoba is walking home and then a guy wearing a gas mask and a white trench coat and silly gloves, that guy is Clear and he jumped off of a building to meet Aoba and he keeps calling Aoba master and then Aoba kicks him and makes him go away
Ok then another time he comes home from work and all the lights are off and he’s like oh noooooooo oh nooooo Tae got kidnapped but then he checks in her room and she’s asleep and it’s ok chill and his headaches have been getting worse. But then he goes upstairs and there's a guy in his room and that guy is Noiz. Noiz is trying to steal his data because he says he wants to know how he beat him at Rhyme but he doesn’t remember beating Noiz at Rhyme ever. Then Koujaku sees Noiz in Aoba's room and thinks he’s attacking him which tbh he kind of is so it’s justified and they are about to have a battle over Aoba but they they hear sounds on the room and it’s Clear so now Clear is there also. But they were being too loud so Tae makes them all come downstairs and they eat doughnuts. We get a hint to everyone's stereotypes when they eat doughnuts, like how Noiz is a tsundere and refuses to admit he likes sweet things, Koujaku is his childhood friend and has had tae’s doughnuts a lot, and Clear is a robot with mind control powers when he teleports the doughnut under his gas mask. Either way they are sent home but now at least Aoba knows most of the main guys.
Ok then another day Aoba is at work and Noiz walks in and is like hey man Rhyme is coming to you right freak now bro and then kisses Aoba and Noiz is like no man it’s chill I do that with all my friends and then Aoba was like ok chill whatevs as long as it’s not gay. He goes to see the Usui and talks to Virus and Trip again.
Ok next day Aoba comes home looking for his grandmother and all the lights are off and he’s figured out that his grandmother has been kidnapped. so he wants to set out to go find her
Ok then Aoba goes to this club where they use Photonarcotics which is a fictional drug which works through music and light pulsing which makes Aoba pass out and then Mink kidnaps him.
Aoba wakes up to meet Mink who is an awful person who threatens to rape him (I HATE MINK DUDE I DON’T CARE ABOUT HIS ROUTE IN RE: CONNECT I HATE MINK). Ok and then Aoba stays in Minks stronghold for a bit and eventually convinces him to help go find his grandmother. (I don’t remember a lot of what happens there I need to lock in again and rewatch the route) They go to Aoba's basement and make a plan Koujaku and Noiz have more evil yaoi together. They go break into the Morphine stronghold based on what happens in the rpg game that Aoba got sent. They fight a lot of Dry Juice members who aren’t acting like themselves and have white rolled back eyes and so they have to fight them all.
Aoba and co go outside and they find Tae and a possessed Mizuki. Mizuki threatens to kill Tae unless Aoba joins Morphine and Aoba refuses then right as Mizuki is about to slit Tae’s throat Aoba is sucked into his mind and he’s at the alleyway where there used to be a Dry Juice tag and it’s changed to a Morphine tag and then farther down the alleyway he sees Mizuki but like regular unpossessed Mizuki. Mizuki tells Aoba about how he only agreed to join with Morphine because he felt like Dry Juice was dying out and he was afraid because of how much Dry Juice meant to him. Then Aoba sees Mizuki's flashback to another Morphine facility where they were chaining up Mizuki and were like all your Dry Juice guys are possessed and now you will be too >:]. Then Aoba is like what did they do to you and Mizuki starts screaming and covering his ears and then Aoba is forced out of his mind and Mizuki (real life Mizuki) is in a coma but Tae is saved and they take Mizuki to the hospital.
Now the whole gang (Aoba, Noiz, Mink, Koujaku, Clear, and Tae) is at Aoba’s house and Tae explains Aoba’s mind control powers to him (called scrap) and how he was made by Toue. Then she talks about how what happened to Dry Juice was probably Toue testing his mind control powers and that he’s gonna mind control everyone on the island at the huge anniversary celebration Toue is holding in like a few days.
Then Akushima, previously nice guy, starts using his megaphones to be like hey guys you are terrorists so he’s mind controlled and they are like oh no and so Aoba and Koujaku start following the route that the rpg game email showed them and they get into platinum jail. They check into where they will be staying which is a hotel house thing called glitter (aka the yaoi hotel) they go to sleep cause they are tired and then Aoba wakes up to Koujaku sneaking out and he is seeing women which is like shock! cause Koujaku is all these womens gay best friends but no one is aware of the gay so everyone thinks he's a womanizer but like litterally he's so nice so like no he's not don't say that about my diva Koujaku. But either way Aoba was mad and then the next morning Koujaku went out with women to this club and there they use photonarcotics also but it's a different club that the one that mink was at cause this one is in platinum jail obviously. And he needs a card to get in and he doesn't have one but then a stranger wearing a blue kimono and a bunch of skull attire is like ummm actually he's with me and gets Aoba into the club and then leaves to go like dance or wtv. Then at the club Aoba gets a really bad headache and passes out and people are like stepping on him and stuff cause like they are weird photonarcotic high it's genuinly scary this game is good about being scary and also Aoba throws up on Koujakus kimono and he's like oh no he's gonna be mad. But it's ok cause Koujaku saves him and carries him home and it's super sweet and they agree that they are THE BEST OF BROS AND BROS CARRY EACH OTHER HOME AND ALMOST KISS ALSO but Aoba is like still kind of upset duh because they are trying to infultrate platinum jail and Koujaku is going to the club with strange women at early in the morning but Koujaku is like ok man I'm not lock in and not do that anymore and be honest. So Aoba goes to sleep and when he wakes up Koujaku is washing his kimono in the bathtub and he left the door open slightly and also he doesn't have a shirt on cause he only has one cloths and it's his kimono and through the door Aoba sees that he has a tatoo on his back which is of flowers and he's like wow that's so pretty I'm just gonna keep staring at my bff naked cause I'm not gay and that's the end of that scene.
THEN NEXT MORNING I SWEAR TO GOD KOUJAKU LEAVES TO GO AGAIN and Aoba is kind of fairly crashing out and so he goes and he finds the stranger who let him into the club last time waiting for him again and he's like hey man who are you how do you know me and he's like I don't you're just hot and he also introduces himself as Ryuhou. And Aobas like ok man wtv I want to get back into that club and Ryuhou is like sinse you passed out last time maybe you should stay in my room and Aoba is like yeah that's a great idea. And Ryuhou's room has a bunch of tatoo desighns on the wall one of which being the flowers that Aoba saw on Koujaku's back. SO they talk about tatoos and Aoba drinks tea from Ryuhou and then is paralized because duh stranger danger *rolls eyes this man should have gone to kinder garden instead of listening to voices on the beach with his adoptive father* and then Ryuhou is like haha yeah I gave ur friend (Koujaku) a mind control tattoo cause Toue asked me to.
And then Ryuhou is really evil and is like I don't care about how anyone feels I love tattooing and tattooing only. But then Koujaku breaks in and was like "I know you Aoba of course you went to the evil tattoo chamber cause you were lwk jealous of me" and so then Koujaku beats up Ryuhou and Ryuhou is like you killed your mom and hes like NOOOOO and then saves Aoba and then is like we HAVE GOT TO TAKE TOUE DOWN cause they forced me to get my evil tattoo.
So then they get to ovel tower and they bring guys from Beni Shigure and then they go up to try and find Toue but then Ryuhou is there and he has control of all the Beni Shigure guys and also Aoba cause he poked them with his needle. And then Koujaku is so mad cause Ryuhou is like taking everything Koujaku loves and so he goes beast mode and his tatoo grows like all over his body cause yk it's flowers and he stabs Ryuhou with his epic sword and kills Ryuhou but Ryuhou is like no it's all chill getting killed by my own creation is so epic and then Koujaku is still really mad and he's about to kill Aoba but then Aoba uses scrap! and they are yaoi during the scrap session and Aoba says it's ok one william times. And he learns that Koujaku went to the mainland because he was his yakuza fathers only heir so he made him get tattooed by Ryuhou and on the last day when the tattoo was done he went beast mode and accidentally killed his mother and he blames Ryuhou for it and he is being consumed by the tattoo.
Toue takes Koujaku and keeps him in captivity where he is like full beast mode all the time and Desire fully takes over Aoba and so he becomed Shiroaba (the Aoba with completly white skin and white hair and then robes with red accents which is cause he was completly desire like when he was a child but he can't become his life model because he isn't connected to Sei and I'm pretty sure Sei is dead in this route) So then he goes and visits Koujaku and is gay with him.
They kill Toue and then go back to the house and get freaky so that's cool I guess. I don't think anything else happens but I don't want the yaoi parts so a little might have happened after that I missed
